Tanbok Koranee National Park Adventure | Description

Travel back in time to an ancient Thailand; to a world far removed from the party beaches and busy city streets! Nestled in the northern tip of Phang Nga Bay, the Tanbok Koranee National Park is home to an atmospheric network of caves, natural tunnels and startling limestone formations; which make the perfect location for some serious exploration by kayak.

Join Trip Store Krabi on this exciting adventure through the ancient caves and winding waterways, as we take you to a world which is as radically different from the lively beaches and energetic life of Krabi as can be imagined.

Your kayak experience will be led by a qualified guide, who will take you on a journey through the strange, otherworldly tunnel of Tam Lod Nua, into beautiful stalactite-filled caves and though secret lagoons, such as Tham Khao Wong. Previous kayakers often comment on the almost eerie sense of tranquillity and peace when paddling through these silent waters; where the only noise is the occasional screech of a bird overhead and the sounds of our own voices, echoing from the surrounding rocks.

We make a stop at the evocatively named ‘Big Head Ghost Cave’ to see the amazing pictographs that decorate the walls; ancient drawings including a woman with an animal’s head and other animal images; the meaning of which we can only speculate on nowadays.

Bor Thor, the village that serves as the location for our tasty seafood lunch, is also a great place to explore, and boasts a number of archaeological attractions that we will visit. It is a fascinating place for nature lovers to enjoy as well, with neighbouring mangrove forests that are home to numerous birds and species of monkey.

If you long for a taste of ancient Thailand; and a glimpse into how it must have looked, thousands of years ago; then take a paddle back in time with Trip Store Krabi on this unforgettable, mystical adventure!
