Lipe Diving Liveaboard | Description & Itinerary

Forra Dive Resort, Koh Lipe has been operating the island’s first diving liveaboard since 2009, offering an incredible diving safari which visits three marine parks. During six days of diving we cover over 300 nautical miles visiting all the best dive sites in Thailand’s South Andaman Sea including spots in the Tarutao, Lanta and Phi-Phi marine reserves.

The trip gives divers the chance to explore a massive range of dive sites from shallow coral reefs to deep isolated pinnacles and ship wrecks. The variety of corals and marine life to be seen is massive so you’ll be sure to enjoy an unforgettable six days of fantastic diving.

Conducted aboard the 27M Chalan 3 Seatrekker we’re diving in comfort as the liveaboard is well setup for extended range dive trips, with properly configured dive deck and platform and spacious upper deck for relaxing between dives. All dive equipment rental and meals are included (and we offer a 500 baht per day discount for divers who have their own set of scuba gear).

Typically the dive trip is run as follows:

On day one we depart from Koh Lipe, visiting dive sites within Tarutao Marine Park. We enjoy a series of dives at the incredible 8 Mile Rock; a deep isolated pinnacle which offers the possibility to see big fish such as whale sharks, barracuda, giant grouper, leopard sharks and much more. There couldn’t be a better way to start the trip. We combine this with dives at the ‘Stonehenge’ and Jabang pinnacles, rich in corals and reef life and ideal spots for underwater photography.

Overnight the liveaboard moors at Jabang, then the following morning we make our way to the Yong Hua Wreck for a deep dive. Depth and current can make this a challenging dive, but it’s worth the effort to see the countless lionfish, soft corals and gorgonian fans covering the wreck. We follow up with dives at Koh Sarang and Koh Pung (Honey Island), plus a night dive at Koh Rok where we stay overnight in the shelter of the islands.

On day three we make our way into Koh Lanta Marine park to dive the incredible Hin Deang. This isolated pinnacle is renowned as one of the best dive sites in Thailand and offers the chance for depth combined with amazing corals and aquatic life. We enjoy three fantastic dives at Hin Daeng where if lucky we’ll get to see manta rays or whale sharks, before crossing to Koh Ha where we make a night dive and spend the night.

During day four we’ll dive a couple of sites around Koh Ha before crossing to Phi-Phi where we can dive either Bida Nok or the ‘Snake Cave’. During the evening we moor at Maya Bay – one of the most scenic locations in all of Thailand.

Then on day five we continue north to dive some of Phuket’s famous dive sites including the King Cruiser wreck, Shark Point and a choice between Racha Noi or Koh Doc Mai. Plus we fit in a night dive at Racha Noi.

For our final day of the trip we start with a morning dive at the impressive south wall dive site of Racha Noi. Then whilst motoring back towards Koh Lipe, time permitting we stop en-route to dive the famous Hin Muang Pinnacle in Lanta Marine Park. This giant pinnacle is covered in purple soft corals, and again we have the possibility to spy some of Thailand’s larger aquatic life. We then head straight for Koh Lipe, usually reaching land around 1am.

Discount for own dive equipment

All dive equipment rental is included as part of your trip.
If you have your own full set of scuba equipment, we give a 500 baht per day reduction (so 3,000 baht total discount).
