Trekking Tour Outline and Itinerary
Heading out at ~08:00am on day one, we’ll first visit a local fresh market in Kanchanaburi’s Bo Phloi district where we’ll select ingredients for our meals for the rest of the day.
We’ll then proceed to Chaloem Ratanakosin National Park. We’ll make a trek to the Tham Than Lot Noi limestone cave which has impressive stalactite and stalagmite formations. Next we’ll follow a trail along a stream for ~3 hours, stopping for a picnic at the scenic Trai Trung waterfall along the way. Our trekking continues along the stream till we reach the much larger Tham Than Lot Yai Cave, then on the Kao Lek Karen (hill tribe) village. We’ll stay overnight in a bamboo tree-house, with candlelit dinner.
The next morning we’ll have breakfast in the village then drive to the Srinakarin Lake. We’ll board a ferry for a ride across the lake, enjoying spectacular vistas of lake, limestone formations and jungle.
We’ll then enter Kanchanaburi’s Erawan National Park where we’ll explore the famous seven tiered Erawan waterfall cascading through the jungle. You’ll have the opportunity to take a refreshing dip in one of the plunge pools formed by the waterfall.
Our next stop is lunch at a nearby restaurant, after which we head to Thaweechai Elephant Camp. We’ll enjoy an elephant ride along the jungle trails, then return to the river for our next adventure. We’ll board traditional bamboo rafts for a relaxing drift downstream, maneuvering our way along the River Kwai through the rainforest. As we approach sunset, with tuition and guidance you’ll have the unique opportunity to join the elephants as they take their evening bath.
Then we’ll head into Sai Yok National Park where we’ll be spending the night. This time we’ll be staying in a floating raft-house, enjoying dinner on the river.
Following breakfast we’ll depart from the raft house by boat, traveling along the River Kwai Noi and checking out the Sai Yok Yai waterfalls.
We’ll stop for lunch at a local restaurant before heading on to Nong Bue Village. Here we’ll use canoes to make our way back to Kanchanaburi along the River Kwai Yai, which takes about three hours. Whilst canoeing along the river we’ll pass the famous Bridge on the River Kwai.
Finally by evening we’ll be back in Kanchanaburi, and you’ll be dropped back wherever you want.
