Q. What is the best way get from Koh Tao to Krabi? (Quick & cheap)
Here are a few suggestions for Koh Tao to Krabi.
#Route idea 1: Ferry to Chumphon, minibus to Krabi
From Koh Tao you can catch the Lomprayah catamaran or night boat to Chumphon (mainland pier).
Then from Chumphon you can travel overland to Krabi.
For this there are a few possibilities.
There’s a bus station in the center of Chumphon town, from where you can catch a public bus.
Or better would be to look at catching a minibus service instead. This is potentially a bit quicker, with less stops along the way, and should be more comfortable.
One company operating minibuses on that route is Fame Tour. See: http://www.chumphon-kohtao.com/krabi1
From Krabi it’s possible to connect through to Koh Phi Phi, Railay Beach or Koh Lanta.
#Route idea 2: Ferry from Koh Tao to Samui >> Fly to Krabi
If cash isn’t too much of an issue you can fly across to Thailand’s Andaman coast instead.
Being so small Koh Tao doesn’t have an airport, but you can fly to Krabi from nearby Koh Samui.
You can make the trip across from Koh Tao to Samui using either the Lomprayah (http://www.lomprayah.com) or Seatran ferry service (http://seatrandiscovery.com/).
Then from Samui, you can take a domestic flight to Krabi with Bangkok Airways (http://www.bangkokair.com).
NB; there are also airports in Suratthani and Chumphon, but flying from either of those to Krabi isn’t viable.
The only sensible option for flying is with Bangkok Airways from Samui.
Hi, there is a direct connection from Koh Tao to Krabi by highspeed catamaran and VIP bus, leaving at 09:30 am and arriving at 05:30 pm, daily.
